The Stage Right Show Video Project

As seen on BBTV, the College Democrats made a rather familiar looking video about why they are a “Democrat”. Believe me, it is worth your time to watch.

2. Doesn’t this seem just a little familiar? Below are a few phrases/people that I expected to see in this video:

I’m not a witch. I’m a Democrat.

So, like, when my dad, John McCain ran for office as a Democrat — I mean. {cut} I’m, a progressive because, like, the irrelevant Tea Party, like, they all HATE my dad because he’s, like a Democr–UGH! {cut}

I believe in the constitutional principle of equal outcomes, not just equal opportunities – and I’m a Mormon.

Just sayin’

One of our fabulous members of the Hollywood Chat Pack came up with the idea of doing a response video to the College Democrats! That sounds GREAT but we’ll need your help!

Here’s what you do. Take your webcam, cell phone camera, or regular digital camera and record a short 10s-1min video of you explaining why you’re a Republican or a conservative. Now you may be thinking “But being a Republican doesn’t make you a conservative…” Well it should! We want these terms to be interchangeable for our candidate in the next election, right? I want to be able to identify my Presidential candidate as both a Republican and a conservative. So, for those of you who have a pit in your stomach calling yourself a Republican or simply aren’t registered a Republican, feel free to call yourself a conservative because here we expect them to mean the same thing.

After you’ve recorded your video you need to save it on your computer. Check to make sure that you’re in the picture, that we can see you clearly (good lighting), and that we can hear you. Unlike the College Democrat video, we don’t intend to play music over your well-constructed declaration.

The easiest way for me to be able to get your videos is going to be through a file-sharing site. Most video files are too big to email. We are going to use an application called “dropbox”.

To share your video with me:

Go to www.dropbox.com.
Download software and create an account (its free).
Send a tweet to me @meredithdake letting me know you’ve created your account. You can also send me a facebook message or an email.
I will send you an email invite to a shared folder. It will open it up just like the file is on your computer. All you have to do is move a copy of your video to that folder and I’ll be able to see it!
